Our room at this hotel was the best one in the house, with the balcony and two beautiful french doors overlooking the street and the Duomo! So romantic! The room was very spacious, high ceilings and a nice size bathroom. It is in such a great spot. Very convenient. The street noise was a little loud, but we always travel with a "sound machine" so it drowned out the cars and sirens. Can't wait to return!

The La Residenza del Proconsolo is in the perfect location with a beautiful view of the Duomo.The bedroom with large, high ceiling and the spacious bathroom were wonderful. It was such a treat to have breakfast - including cappuccino and light pastries- delivered to the room each morning. The staff and owner were very pleasant and helpful. There could not be a better place to stay in Florence!

This hotel is in a fantastic position, we stayed in the Leonardo Suite which has amazing views over the street and the Duomo. The double glazing and air con ensured a peaceful night, however, the bells and sirens still managed to wake us up in the morning. The typical Italian breakfast was served in the room, and was basic and satisfactory. The staff were welcoming and helpful and I would highly recommend this place for visitors to the city. May 2009

We found our room at the front of the building suffered from traffic noise. The rooms were huge with wonderfully high ceilings, had great charm and character, were spacious,comfortable, well furnished - we had a four-poster!-and the bathroom had a hydrotherapy bath - a real boon after a busy day walking many miles! The staff were charming and helpful. An excellent location, within walking distance of everything you could hope to see.

I would like to commend the owner Mariano who is very nice and accommodating. I would also like to mention Lorna for the excellent service and for being extra nice and for making sure we have everything we needed and more throughout our stay there. The room is okay but I would have preferred to stay in the room with a view of the Duomo...next time, maybe. We would definitely stay here again...

This is a lovely boutique style small hotel in the heart of Florence.
We upgraded for the luxury room only a extra 20euros a night and the room i thought was brillant a beautiful 4 poster bed very romantic and if you want to look like you,ve pulled out the stops to make it a special romantic trip then this is a absolute winner.

This B&B is in an excellent location, just 10 steps from the back of the Duomo, and a 10-minute walk from everything else. The room was large and very nicely decorated. There is good air-conditioning and is quiet. You can get a view of the Duomo and Dome. There is a shower and bathtub too. The owner and staff here are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and well-kept. The reception is not staffed 24 hours a day, but check-in can be done anytime durring the day.

We had one night in Florence, and were given an excellent room overlooking the Cathedral. Everything from the welcome to the standard of the room was perfect.
Be aware that this is more of a Guest House than a hotel - no evening staff or bar for example, and that the breakfast is a continental breakfast served in the room on a trolley at a time of your choosing.

Ha sido una estancia estupenda. Eramos tres personas en la habitación con un gran espacio para movernos. El jacuzzi un gran invento para relajarnos después de las agotadoras jornadas. Muy céntrico. Nos hemos sentido como en casa.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Run by a lovely young family. Perfect location.An amazing place. We arrived about 11pm and spoke to the receptionist - who happened to be the lady owner. Breakfast was served in the room and we could have absolutely anything we wanted. We had a twin room as I was with my mother - it was lovely and spaceous, and the bathroom was beautiful - we had a jaccuzi in ours!
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

Our stay at Residenza Proconsolo was amazing. We can't wait to return. The location was central, our view of the Duomo was beautiful, and our room charmingly decorated. The staff was very helpful (they loaned us a knife, corkskrew, plate and glasses for the wild boar salami and wine we purchased in Greve during our Chianti tour and gave us directions to a bakery to buy some bread.) Our room was immaculately cleaned everyday by a lovely woman who made the best cappuccino.
